On december 1921 the English warship of the Majestic Class, HMS Prince George, stranded on the coast near Camperduin, the Netherlands. The remains were visible ever since, until Juli 28 2014, when they got burried under the sand as part of the coastal defense project by the Dutch Department of Waterways and Public Works. The work is executed by the consortium of Van Oord and Boskalis who also ordered the production of this app through which the ship can be seen shortly after the stranding in 1921. Modern day Augmented Reality Technology is used to keep the memory of this ship alive. (For the historians: in 1921 the canons were already dismantled, but these are still visible in our model.)Would you like to see the ship in 3D Augmented Reality? This is how it works:
1) Download the free app HMS Prince George through the Apple iOS App Store
2) Download the picture http://www.hia3d.nl/princegeorge/ and print it (black/white is fine).
3) Activate the app and point the camera towards the this picture and see how the ship lay in front of the coast shortly after stranding.
